About Mark Usciak

Background:
A lifelong resident of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, I bring over 30 years experience behind the camera, to help create the images to satisfy your photographic requirements. My patience and attention to detail will be most appreciated in creating the "look" you desire. Having developed an interest in photography as a teenager, then working as school photographer, then as a photographic technician for a major corporation, I bring a situational awareness to working under demanding deadlines.

I transferred to totally digital photography in 2003. This new world of possibilities prompted an expansion of my services to include Photoshop skills, bringing new life to traditional images including Wedding, Portrait and Event photography. My images of America's Space Program have brought recognition from my peers and publications such as Aviation Week and Space Technology and Air Force Magazine to name just a few.

Photography Philosophy:
My wedding photography philosophy is quite simple: to provide quality photographs in accordance to the bride and bridegroom’s wishes. Some couples like more formal poses, and others prefer a more photo-journalistic style of image. I am equally comfortable with both. I take pride in my ability to capture the shots you want, but also keep a keen eye out for the ones that happen spontaneously. On average, we can complete all the family and wedding party poses in 30 minutes between the service and reception, so you can enjoy the reception with your friends...

Portraits:
The best way to take a relaxed, natural portrait is to keep the subject in familiar surroundings. That is why I prefer location portraiture, where I travel to your location and use a mix of available and strobe lighting to give a great-looking shot. It is so much easier for me to travel than for my clients to gather a family or group to go to an unfamiliar location. And, there is no extra cost to you for this service. Also, you can view the images at the time of the session to be sure you are happy with the results.

Commercial:
I enjoy bringing out the best features of interiors and exteriors with the creative use of light. Builders, contractors, and real estate professionals all have different requirements for showcasing their specific products. Many years of experience have taught me the secrets of highlighting the best features of each structure...

Event:
Capturing that "special" shot is what I do best. Be it a party, dinner, presentation, or meeting, the photos I provide tell the story of the event. I pride myself in being aware of what must be done and accomplishing it in a timely manner without drawing attention to myself. A mix of casual, posed and candid photos along with pleasing lighting will capture your event for all to enjoy.

Sports:
Timing is everything they say, and with sports photography, that is the truth. No time for take-overs here, you have to get it right the first time! Versatile equipment and years of experience with all types of indoor and outdoor sports, assures you that I will get the shots of the action, wherever and whenever it occurs...
